An Introduction to LJS Event Services

LJS Event Services was founded in 2016 by Lee Sansom, in Uxbridge, United Kingdom. In our first years, we offered basic lighting and sound design to local schools and theatre companies and slowly grew our industry contacts, suppliers and customers. We focussed on building personal relationships with our clients and providing them with exceptional service at great value. We enjoy working for companies of all sizes and types, and offer special rates to charities where operational circumstances allow.

Moving forward to 2021, we now have a dedicated premises in West Drayton, West London, employ two full time staff and own a large range of professional technical Lighting, Sound, Special Effects and Communications equipment from brands such as Robe, QSC, Chauvet, ETC, Shure and Motorola.

We offer dry hire, wet hire, production management, stage management, lighting design, sound design, special effects and staging to a variety of companies including The Beck Theatre, Encore Theatre, Vienna Festival Ballet, Rock Project, Vanguard Learning Trust, eAct, HEOS Musical Theatre, Festoon Theatre Company and many more

Lee Sansom Company Director / Lighting Designer

Lee first took an interest in Technical Theatre, Business Management and Live Events in Secondary School. He then took this passion further to volunteer for local theatre companies in his hometown as a teenager where he was able to build contacts within the industry and also learn new skills. Lee continued to develop his skills in technical theatre and event management (specialising in Lighting Design) and eventually set up his own company working for a variety of amateur dramatic groups and professional groups alike.

Lee now assumes the position as company director, running the day to day activities of the business but this doesn't stop him going onto events as lighting designer on a regular basis. Lee also freelances outside of LJS Event Services, and has IPAF, Working at Height and First Aid Qualifications as well as recognised industry certifications.

Lawrence Williams Operations Manager / Sound Designer

Lawrence first took an interest in music from a young age, becoming a competent guitarist and songwriter. He branched into technical theatre, specifically live sound, at secondary school, where he had access to a wireless mic system and gained digital desk experience in both a live and studio setting. He also worked for local theatre companies, along with LJS Event Services, building experience wherever he could in all areas of technical theatre and making plenty of useful contacts within the industry.

Lawrence graduated from LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) with a 2:1 honours degree in Sound Technology in June 2021. During his studies, Lawrence was a regular freelancer for LJS Event Services, becoming a crucial member of the team! Lawrence specialises in live sound and post production. He has recently added videography to his skillset, filming and editing a range of promotional videos and theatre performances.

Oliver Latham Production Manager

Oliver was employed as a freelancer for LJS Event Services for many years, working on countless productions with both lighting and sound, and we are now delighted to employ him as part of our full-time staff. He took an interest in technical theatre in year 7 at secondary school and has been hooked ever since. He has become a part of the LJS family and has proven himself to be an invaluable member of the team and an incredible technician.

As the youngest member of our team, Oliver has worked on an impressive resume of events, including high-profile shows, including acting as an operator in the West End. We are excited to be part of his future development.
